How we handle the content you submit, what is processed, what is cached, and what stays on your device.
Our Position in One Line
Scam Check processes the content you submit in order to return a result. Online analysis may use Groq or Google Gemini. We do not create accounts, do not sell your data, and do not run advertising trackers. We do not claim that nothing is ever processed or briefly cached.
Built Around Your Privacy
No User Database
We do not create accounts or keep a database of who you are. Submitted content is processed to produce your result. A short in-memory cache of recent text scans (about 15 minutes) may exist so repeated checks are faster — that is not a user archive.
No Accounts, No Ad Tracking
You never need an account. We do not load Google Analytics, advertising pixels, or marketing trackers, and we do not build advertising profiles.
Nothing Shared or Sold
We do not sell, license, or share your submissions with advertisers, data brokers, or any third party. Your content is never used for ad targeting.
This Tab Only, For Your Result
Your last scan result is kept in this browser tab (sessionStorage) so you can return from Help or refresh. It is cleared when you close the tab or choose Clear result. Passwords, OTPs, PINs, and CVVs are redacted before that copy is stored.
We Do Not Ask For
- ✓Your name, address, phone number, or email as a condition of using the scanner
- ✓Login credentials — we never ask for passwords, OTPs, PINs, or card numbers
- ✓Advertising cookies, marketing profiles, or Google Analytics
- ✓Third-party account access (Google, Facebook, wallet, etc.)
What Processing Involves
- ·Content you submit is sent to our Cloudflare-hosted API so it can be analyzed
- ·Online analysis may send that text or screenshot to Groq and/or Google Gemini as a transient inference request
- ·Recent text scans may be cached in server memory for about 15 minutes — a temporary cache, not a user database
- ·Region, language, and theme preferences are stored in localStorage on your device
- ·Standard Cloudflare edge logs that Cloudflare retains to operate its network — governed by Cloudflare's privacy policy
How To Verify This Yourself
You do not have to take our word for it. You can check:
- ✓Checking that the page loads over HTTPS with a valid certificate.
- ✓Noting that no login, email, or phone is required to run a scan.
- ✓On the Contact page, verifying you can reach a real human.
- ✓Confirming we do not load Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, or advertising scripts. Scan requests do go to our /api/check endpoint, and online analysis may call Groq or Gemini.
Third-Party Processing Disclosure
To analyze a submission, the text or screenshot may be sent to Groq and/or Google Gemini as a transient inference request. Those providers process the content to return an analysis. We do not use submissions to train our own models. Recent text analyses may be cached in server memory for about 15 minutes. Your last result may also stay in this browser tab until you clear it or close the tab. The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages, so standard Cloudflare operational logs exist as described above.
